Allison Moore

LPCi Supervised by Kaylyn Hickey, MS, NCC

I am Allison Moore and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern supervised by Kaylyn Hickey, DMin, LPC-S, RPT-S. I have helped bring healing and hope to children and families with a variety of backgrounds and special needs. I have extensive training in play therapy and am passionate about forming relationships with children that provide emotional safety, trust, and compassion. During play therapy sessions, my focus is to help children better understand themselves and their emotions, appropriately express their emotions, increase responsibility for their choices, and develop a healthy sense of self. I believe that parents are an invaluable part of the therapy process. Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is one way that I equip parents with the necessary tools and resources to support their relationships with their children, their families, and themselves.

I completed my Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas, which has been ranked the #1 counseling program in Texas. During my graduate studies I specialized in play therapy and school counseling. I completed practicums and internships at the UNT Child Family Resource Clinic (CFRC), Momentous Institute, and Hope’s Door New Beginning Center. I was able to support children with a variety of concerns including severe anger, loss of control, family adjustment, abuse, anxiety, and grief. My experience as a school counselor gives me the ability to support children and parents in a unique way as they navigate the demands of the academic setting.

My mission is to empower and bring hope to children and families as they experience life’s ups and downs. I look forward to supporting your family!
