Kisha Anderson, LPC

Human beings are social creatures. Navigating life’s difficulties alone can exacerbate distressing feelings, unwarranted thoughts, and regrettable behaviors. As a Cognitive Behavioral therapist, I offer collaboration and support to enable my clients to live each day peacefully as they embrace their authentic selves and the world around them.

I am an affirmative therapist who specializes in substance use, acute mental illness, and LGBT matters. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Addictions from the University of North Texas and a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. In addition, I earned a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management as well as a Certificate in Affirmative Therapy with LGBT Clients both from Southern Methodist University. I have worked with a diverse population of clients with concerns ranging from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma, various sexual orientations, and gender issues.

Seeking counseling is an act of courage and determination; therefore, clients begin their therapeutic process with a set of strengths they already obtain. These strengths can be utilized to assist in personal growth and development. With the assistance of an empathic and proficient counselor, any difficulty can be overcome with grace and dignity.
