Michelle Apple LCSW

I opened up shop in 1996 working in a closet for $75 per month. My digs eventually improved but I got lonely and wanted to have a group practice. I rebranded my group as Apple Counseling & Consulting a handful of years ago and added a lot of great clinicians to help me.

I am from Louisiana, but migrated north to get my Masters of Social Work from Ohio State University in 1991. I have been practicing in Texas as a License Clinical Social Worker since 1993. I started my career at Buckner Children's Home and Promise House in the early 1990's.

By the time you have been in practice for as long as I have,  you get experience in many areas of practice. My love is working with teens as they are a tricky, quirky group that I really understand. I also work with adults with issues related to anxiety, mood, OCD, ADHD, divorce issues, parenting issues, relationship issues, work issues/ coaching. I too practice play therapy with my little ones.

I frequently provide crisis services for companies with loss of employees, traumatic events, or layoffs.

I am oriented toward a Cognitive Behavioral approach, Solution Focused, and Ecletic Orientation in working with my clients. I definitely listen to my clients; however, I am not a therapist who only listens. I do give suggestions in working towards the goals you establish. I am honest and give constructive feedback in the most loving manner.

When I am not working I am saving rescues around the world or at least at my house. I have 2 wolfhound rescues and 1 mastiff rescue. Yes and I have some kids and husband too. They give me less trouble then my dogs.

I am in network with United Health Care, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon Health Options formerly known at Value Options, and Magellan.
